Keeping Your Downlines/Teams Motivated

If you have started building your team with Sugar Shower, then you have probably thought of some idea's on how to keep your team motivated!

In this article I will include some helpful ways to motivate and keep your team motivated to not only be successful with customer's and sales, but to also help you be a successful Team Leader!

▪Incentives- Using incentives to help motivate your team can be a number of things. You can offer special rewards for most sales, most recruits, etc. Rewards can be company gift certificates, a special product from the site, a company care package or something you think your downlines will really enjoy winning!

▪ Team Planning- Team Planning can be a group plan for success and a strategy to achieve your team plan. Its best to be realistic about goals and achievements, stay simple but challenging! For example, as the team leader you may challenge your downlines to get 3 recruits within a weeks time as well as $15 in sales. You will want to work with each downline independently to come up with a strategy that best works for them. You can gradually add a more challenging plan periodically such as once a month. (Example- Get 10 recruits and $50 in sales for the month) Don't forget the motivation method!

▪ Team Training- Team Training is a wide variety of informative post, live group training where your downlines can ask you questions, and messaging them to see how they are and if they have any questions or need any help with anything. You may even post a "Pop Quiz" asking them questions about the company, or you may post/discuss a specific topic daily/weekly. Keeping your downlines connected in educational information of the company will help them feel more engaged.

▪ Encourage Self Promotion- Encourage your downlines to respectively share their success with others. This can be a post about how great things are going with the company, why they love the company, or pictures of their product collection, samples, business cards they created, customer feedback etc. After all, no one is going to know how great things are or how happy they are with the company unless they share it for themselves! Also giving everyone on your team permission to brag freely encourages a couple of things- 1.) When someone posts “Hey I just had a great party, let me tell you about it!” that person is going to get all kinds of congratulations from other team members. Warm fuzzies! 2.) Showing how people are having success, may motivate others. Perhaps there is a little jealousy there, with a “if she can do it, so can I. I want to brag about my success too!” You are then duplicating your model of leadership, by encouraging everyone to be a leader.

▪ Recognition & Celebration- No success is too large, or too small!!! Did someone just have their launch party? Brag about them! Did someone just sponsor her first team member? Congratulate them both om their success and future endeavors! People love to be recognized publicly. And for someone who is a bit more humble or shy, self-promotion as stated above, may not be their cup of tea... So you should keep a watch, and brag for them! This will help establish YOU as a leader who celebrates the success of her team and their achievements!

▪Personal Connection- I mentioned that people are all motivated differently. Take time to connect with each of your team members. Or if you team is too large, at least your first two levels. Ask about them personally, their children, jobs, etc. Doing so will let them know you care and are there for them as a friend, not just a Team Leader!

▪Don't Just Talk the Talk, Walk the Walk-

Finally, be the "Role Model"! Be the change you wish to see in your team. When your team sees you doing the things above- working your business, sharing your successes, recognizing and celebrating others, connecting personally… they are going to want to continue to stay engaged and connect with you. Ultimately, this comes down to your "Leadership" Whether your team is 2 or 200, if you work your business an hour a day or full-time. When you truly care about the success of your team members, they will see it! And they will want to help you be successful, because you are helping them be successful. Be a strong leader and people will be motivated to follow you. THAT is how you are going to successfully grow your business and have a strong & successful team!
